The Case:
Aging millionaire Elmore Channing III hobbles out to the front lawn of his elegant mansion. Dolly, his beautiful young mistress, is walking toward her car. “Please come back, Dolly,” the sick old man pleads, “I’ll do anything. I’ll even marry you!”
Dolly stops and turns toward Elmore. “Well, it’s about time!” she says as she follows him back to the mansion. “I want to get married soon!”
That night the millionaire dies in his library. Days later, Dolly is found in a distant motel with $50,000 hidden in a sack. She is arrested for murder.

Hmmm...Dolly slowly poisoned him over time. She hoped her care (giving a little) during his "illness" would prompt him to marry her sooner and she'd inherit his fortune (gaining a lot). Unfortunately, he died the night of the proposal.
She gave back some jewelry he gave her because she would wear an engagment ring instead. Followed him, killed him, and took his stashed cash.
Forgot to say how...maybe she used a heavy vase...
Oops...sorry Jendi and Kara, you're close, but not quite there. Look closely at Dolly's possesions at the time she is arrested.
I'm assuming she has her keys and some sort of luggage with clothes.
Not sure how she would kill him with keys...
Did she have her own pillow and suffocate him?
Is that the sack the money was in?
Sorry sleuths! No one correctly solved this week's mystery.
Dolly had stolen $50,000 from Elmore, then secretly tried to return it after Elmore promised to marry her. Ironically, Elmore caught Dolly putting back the cash and threatened to have her arrested, so she killed him with the fireplace poker!
